- It sorts your natural coloring — skin undertone, hair and eyes — into one of twelve seasons, each with a palette that harmonizes with it. The idea is simple: some shades make your skin look luminous and others make it look tired, and the season tells you which is which before you buy anything.
- How do I find my color season?
- Judge three things: undertone (warm, cool or neutral), value (how light or deep your overall coloring is), and contrast (the gap between your hair, skin and eyes). Those three place you in one of the twelve seasons. Doing it by eye in mixed lighting is where most people go wrong, which is why the app reads it from a single selfie instead.
- What are the twelve color seasons?
- Each of the four classic seasons splits three ways: light, true and bright spring; light, true and soft summer; soft, true and deep autumn; and bright, true and deep winter. The extra detail matters — true winter and deep winter want noticeably different palettes.
