Beach Vacation
Beach vacation makeup has to survive sunscreen, sweat and salt water. Which formulas hold, why less base works better, and a preview on your photo before you pack.

Everything about beach makeup is decided by one fact: sunscreen goes on first, and it goes on again every two hours. That constraint rules out most of a normal routine. Reapplying SPF over foundation smears it, and layering makeup on top of a thick mineral sunscreen makes both pill and roll off in little flakes by the time you reach the water.
Less base, not more
The workable answer is to let skin be the look. A tinted mineral SPF, or plain sunscreen plus a cream bronzer stick tapped across the cheekbones, nose and brow bone, leaves you something to reapply over without wrecking. Leave freckles and unevenness where they are — under bright sun a perfectly even face reads as a mask, and by day three the tan line along your jaw will expose it anyway.
What actually holds
Tubing or waterproof mascara, with nothing in between: standard formulas in salt water are a lost cause. Gel and stain-based cheek color beats powder blush, which slides the moment you sweat, and a lip stain outlasts any cream or balm by hours. Waterproof brow product matters more than most people expect, because brows are the first thing to vanish after a swim and their absence is what makes a sun-flushed face look tired in photos.
The cost lands at the end of the day. Waterproof formulas need an oil or balm cleanser to break down, and scrubbing at them with a washcloth after hours of sun is how vacation skin gets angry. Pack the remover on purpose rather than assuming the hotel soap will do it.
Carrying it into the evening
The move from beach to dinner is mostly subtraction plus one addition: rinse the day off, put the same bronze back along the cheekbones, then add either warm shimmer on the lid or a saturated lip — not both, since sun-flushed skin is already carrying plenty of color. Worth knowing that if you tan, your whole face shifts a shade or two warmer mid-trip, and the blush that suited you at home can start reading pink and separate from your skin by the second week.
